I'm a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and I'm an Accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapist registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC). These are two of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy.
I completed a rigorous and intensive course of training and personal therapy which took over 4 years, and included the PgDip in Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling at Brighton University and the Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF).
I have worked as a clinician with a wide range of clients of different ages and backgrounds, with a range of issues, and in various settings over several weeks, months, or years. I've worked in private practice, for several agencies, for an employee counselling scheme, and at a university counselling service. I also volunteer for the NHS in an acute psychiatric hospital.
I abide by the strict Ethical Framework of BACP and BPC. I am fully insured and I undergo regular Supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), as well as keeping updated about current research into theory and practice. I hold a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate.
I'm experienced at working with difference and diversity and my approach is open and inclusive. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative.
I have a background in community work and pastoral care and I have experience of working with and listening to a wide range of people. I hold degrees in Maths and Theology.
